Students (and teachers) are often confused when they see words that look like verbs, but aren't.
-These words are called "verbals." A verbal can be a Ving, a to BASE, or a d-t-n (Vpp)
You can tell they aren't verbs because they don't have an X-Word with them. No X-word--no tense.
